Boda Civil | Ineka & Julio en Casuarinas - Lima, Perú

Ineka called me just one month before her wedding date by way of her older brother, Lucho (Mabel & Jeroen's minister from the Chaclacayo wedding).  Since her best friend had already hired a photographer for the day, she was looking for someone to do video and happened to like the sample I had posted on YouTube.

I was glad to be able to do it, since I immediately fell in love with this fun-loving couple and their adorable family.  I felt so much warmth and great energy with them right from the start and we ended up having a blast together.

Ineka me llamó tan solo un mes antes de su boda por medio de su hermano y mi buen amigo Lucho Herrera (Ministro de la boda de Jeroen y Mabel en Chaclacayo). Como ya tenía una fotógrafa previamente contratada por su mejor amiga, Ineka me pidió que haga un video de boda como el que hice para Jereon y Mabel (puedes verlo en YouTube aquí)

Felizmente que estaba disponible, pues me enamoré de esta linda pareja y de su adorable familia también. Sentí mucha calidez y amistad desde el inicio y nos divertimos un montón. 

Como nunca había hecho solo video para una boda, les dije que igual tomaría fotos para complementar la grabación, ya que para mi las imágenes son tan o más importantes que el video.

Ineka got ready at the Westin in San Isidro, accompanied by her mother, sister and aunt.

Ineka se alistó en el Westin de San Isidro acompañada por su mamá, tía y hermanita. 

I had never seem a hydrating mask like this one before.

Nunca había visto una mascara hidratante así.

I grabbed a taxi to Miraflores to capture the groom and his son getting ready in their apartment.

Me fui en un taxi desde San Isidro hasta el depa de los novios en Miraflores. Ahi encontré al novio alistandose con su hijo Cristobal. 

I love taking photos of the groom getting ready -- the aesthetic is very distinct.

Siempre me encanta tomar fotos del novio alistandose -- es muy distinto a la sesión de la novio por el carácter estético.

From there, we left to the ceremony, which was held at Julio's sister's gorgeous house in the hills of Casuarinas. The view from the backyard was stunning with twinkling lights of the city as far as the eye could see.

De ahi, nos fuimos juntos a la hermosa casa de la hermana de Julio en Casuarinas para la boda. La decoración y la mesa de postres estaban espectaculares. 

Y llegó la hora de capturar la ceremonia...

Ineka was overcome with emotion and couldn't help but cry. The mayor of San Borja, whom married them, suggested she hold back her tears because there was pictures being taken of her. I personally feel that one should always be authentic; if you wanna cry, let the tears fall down and feel the moment. Make-up can always be touched up later before the party.

Ineka estaba muy emocionada y no pudo dejar de llorar. El alcalde de San Borja, quien los casó, le aconsejaba que se aguante porque le estaban tomando fotos.  Sin embargo, para mi, uno siempre debe ser autentico; si tienes que llorar, deja que caigan las lagrimas y siente el momento con toda tu alma. El maquillaje siempre se puede poner de nuevo antes de la fiesta. 

I love observing children at weddings. They're always in their own worlds thinking about what they'd rather be doing at the moment. :P

Me encanta observar a los niños durante una boda. Siempre están dentro de sus propios mundos pensando en lo que preferirían estar haciendo... jejeje

For their first dance they chose the acoustic version of Big Me by the Foo Fighters.

Para su primer baile, ellos eligieron la versión acústica de Big Me de Foo Fighters. 

Their "Hora Loca" was Rock- and Beatles-themed, GENIUS!

Tuvieron una Hora Loca con tema de The Beatles y rock! Que capos! 

It was nuts!

Fue un locura total!

Everyone was so damn nice, I forgot I was actually working!

Todos fueron tan lindos en esta fiesta que olvidé que estaba trabajando.

Before I left, I noticed the bride had transitioned into more comfy kicks for the duration of the party.

Antes de irme, me di cuenta que la novia se había puesto zapatillas mucho más apropiadas para seguirla. 

It was one of the funnest weddings I've had the pleasure to photograph.
Thank you so much to the family for making me feel like a part of the bunch. I'll never forget it!

Fue una de las bodas más divertidas en las que me ha tocado trabajar.

Gracias a la familia por hacerme sentir parte de esto... nunca lo olvidaré!
